On page 294 of EntreLeadership by Dave Ramsey, he writes,
"The process of building a team and a culture in which delegation can be seamless is lengthy but rewarding. Delegation with little negative result takes a tremendous investment. In our microwave culture companies hire a talented team member and have a ridiculous idea that they can add water and have an instant leader ready for delegation. For real delegation to grow you must have first prepared the field, and it still takes time and sweat to grow and harvest the crop."
